One of the most popular tourist attractions in the Philippines, Sagada is known for its picturesque mountain scenery, and the magnificent rice terraces. Visitors enjoy a variety of activities such as hiking, trekking, spelunking, visiting historical sites, and even food tripping.
Among its iconic destinations is the Hanging Coffins. The Igorots, a tribe in northern Philippines practiced the tradition of burying their dead in hanging coffins on the cliffs. One of the beliefs behind this is that by burying the dead in hanging coffins, this brings them closer to their ancestral spirits.
